Enjoy an evening of Charya Nritya, classical Newar dance featuring Nepal's premier dancer Prajwal Vajracharya with Dance Mandal Boise Ensemble under the direction of LiAnne Takeuchi Hunt. Witness the Vajrayana Buddhist pantheon of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Dakinis (goddesses) and Protectors come to life in this dramatic performance of sacred dance.

6:30 - 8 pm Nepali Dinner

$20 - $30 Suggested Ritual Offering, $15 Dinner

This ancient ritual involves offerings of water, incense, flowers and sacred substances within a personal mandala (cosmic diagram) that contains the five elements of water, air, fire, space, and earth. This is done annually to purify negativity, obstacles and sickness and to bestow blessings upon participants. Traditional Nepali Dinner to follow.

Sacred Dance of Nepal Workshop: The Sixteen Offering Dance

Charya Nritya, the sacred dance of the Buddhist priests of Nepal is a dynamic yogic discipline whose movements and meditative elements effect profound changes of mind and body. Participants will be guided through basic movements and dance sequences that allow them to experience first-hand the subtle transformative power of this graceful, yogic dance form. The workshop will focus on the prayer of the Sixteen Offering Goddesses.
